Katherine Thornton’s practice is primarily focused on corporate issues, including business transactions, formation, and litigation.
Ms. Thornton previously practiced corporate and international trade law in several Washington DC law firms, where she was primarily focused on resolving classification issues, including drafting documents relating to business formation and transactions; and working in support of protests, ruling requests, prior disclosures, responses to U.S. Customs and Border Protection requests for information, and comments to notices published in the CBP Bulletin and Federal Register.
During law school, she interned at a San Diego-based nonprofit, where she conducted legal research in support of the organization’s mission to advance education in the third world. She also previously interned at an aerospace engineering firm, where she assisted in-house counsel with all aspects of patent prosecution.
Ms. Thornton received an M.B.A. in Finance from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University. She received a B.S. in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
